Position Overview
MangoBoost builds full-stack AI infrastructure for next-generation hyperscale AI data centers. Our work covers AI networking, next-gen GPU systems and high-performance storage, along with the software ecosystem that ties them together. Within this stack, the DPU (Data Processing Unit) is an FPGA- or SoC-based PCIe card that offloads and accelerates network and storage processing from the CPU.
Our team develops the software that runs the Platform Device, a component shared across the DPU solutions deployed in AI infrastructure. This includes:
- Firmware that controls the card’s internal hardware
- Discovery and initialization of the PCIe card on Embedded Linux and on x86/Arm host servers
- Network interface drivers
- Management functions such as health monitoring, firmware updates and diagnostics
In this role, you will develop a common framework, including kernel drivers, that spans multiple layers. The framework will support the Platform Device of DPU products built on FPGAs and SoCs from multiple vendors through a single, unified interface. Building on it, you will optimize hardware performance and memory usage and design fault-handling mechanisms, so the card delivers peak performance under any condition. You should be able to lead bring-up and design HW/SW interfaces. You should also be able to architect software that keeps mass-production products easy to maintain.
Responsibilities & Opportunities
- Design, develop, and harden Linux kernel drivers for card management, PCIe/MMIO/DMA, and the network interface (NIC).
- Build a common driver framework that isolates hardware differences, so one codebase supports multiple FPGA/SoC vendors and hardware revisions.
- Lead bring-up of new FPGA designs, boards, and SoCs, and co-debug HW/SW boundary issues with the hardware and firmware teams.
- Profile data/control paths, interrupts, and DMA to find and fix performance bottlenecks.
- Develop management functions and CLI tools (monitoring, firmware updates, diagnostics, host-to-card communication) that stay reliable through resets, hot-plug events, and restarts.
- Support multiple Linux distributions and kernel versions through driver packaging and CI integration.
- Reproduce and verify fixes with evaluation engineers, and write clear design and usage documentation.
Required Qualifications
- BS or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of system software development experience, including industry and research projects
- Proficiency in C and Linux systems programming, with hands-on experience developing Linux kernel modules or device drivers
- Understanding of kernel memory management and concurrency control, and of how PCIe devices work (BAR/MMIO, interrupts, DMA)
- Ability to reproduce issues and find root causes across user space, kernel space and hardware using logs and debugging tools
- Ability to clearly explain your designs and problem-solving process, and to read and write technical documents and handle day-to-day work discussions in English
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing drivers for PCIe devices such as NICs, DPUs, SmartNICs or AI accelerators, or analyzing and optimizing network data-path performance
- Understanding of the Linux networking stack (netdev, ethtool, devlink, etc.) and standard kernel subsystems such as hwmon, auxiliary bus and VFIO, with experience designing drivers on top of them
- Experience bringing up FPGA-based (AMD/Xilinx, Altera, etc.) or SoC-based products, or developing common software that supports devices from multiple vendors
- Experience developing in embedded Linux environments (e.g., Yocto) and implementing host-to-embedded-SoC communication
- Experience developing or improving the reliability of management functions for server PCIe cards (sensor/power monitoring, firmware updates, fault recovery, BMC integration, etc.)
- Experience developing CLI tools or user-space libraries, with interfaces designed for usability and compatibility (C/C++, Python, etc.)
- Experience maintaining and packaging drivers across multiple kernel versions and distributions (DKMS, deb/rpm)
- Contributions to the mainline Linux kernel or open-source drivers
- Experience with, or interest in, Rust-based kernel modules (Rust for Linux)
- Active use of AI coding agents in development work
About us
MangoBoost, Inc.
Agentic AI is fundamentally reshaping the paradigm of AI infrastructure. As environments emerge where countless AI agents operate simultaneously, conventional data center architectures are reaching their limits in both performance and efficiency. In response to this shift, MangoBoost is pioneering a new approach with its full-stack AI infrastructure solution designed to innovate every layer of the AI data center.
From LLMBoost, our AI inference optimization software, to GPU and storage systems powered by our proprietary DPU architecture, and orchestration software that seamlessly integrates and manages the entire stack, MangoBoost designs and develops every layer of AI infrastructure in-house. Rather than building isolated products, we focus on eliminating system-wide bottlenecks and fundamentally addressing inefficiencies across the entire infrastructure stack.
MangoBoost’s technology minimizes data movement and coordination overhead while maximizing overall system resource utilization, enabling exceptional performance and optimized total cost of ownership (TCO) for customers. Today, our solutions are already being deployed within real-world AI infrastructure environments through global partners, validating the strength of our technology. Through these efforts, MangoBoost is establishing a new global standard for AI data centers.
