"Lead Sphere's global commercial growth, build lasting partnerships with leading aerospace customers, and help shape the future of our business."
About Sphere
Sphere is a global aerospace and advanced materials company supplying high-performance metals and alloys to leading OEMs, Tier-1 suppliers, and strategic partners worldwide.
We're building more than a materials distribution business. Sphere is developing an end-to-end materials platform connecting raw material sourcing, the superalloy supply chain, manufacturing partnerships, and global distribution.
About the Role
As our Commercial Director, you'll lead Sphere's global sales activities and take ownership of relationships with our most important customers, including a leading U.S.-based space launch company.
You'll serve as a trusted commercial partner to senior customer leadership, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities to deepen Sphere's position within key aerospace and space programs.
Beyond managing customer relationships, you'll develop and execute commercial strategies, own sales forecasts and budgets for key accounts, and lead the Customer Service team to ensure consistent commercial execution and customer engagement.
This is a leadership role for someone who can combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution. You'll work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to support business growth, strengthen long-term partnerships, and secure Sphere's position as a trusted materials supplier.
In your first several months, your priorities will be to establish clear sales strategies, forecasts, budgets, and execution plans for each key account, while strengthening Sphere's relationships with senior leadership at our key U.S. space launch customer.
What You'll Do
- Lead global sales activities and manage strategic relationships with Sphere's key aerospace and space customers.
- Take full ownership of the commercial relationship with our key U.S. space launch customer, including planning, preparing for, and executing visits involving senior customer leadership.

- Develop and execute account-specific sales strategies, forecasts, budgets, and commercial plans.
- Build trusted, long-term partnerships through frequent customer visits and direct engagement with key decision-makers.
- Lead commercial negotiations and customer engagement for growth accounts, strengthening Sphere's long-term position within their supply chains.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to align commercial priorities, customer requirements, and business execution.

- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, including experience engaging with senior customer leadership.
- Experience selling metals or related industrial products.
- Based in Southern California, with the flexibility to work remotely.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently to customer locations.
Nice to Have
- Experience with specialty alloys, superalloys, or advanced materials.
- Experience collaborating with Korea-based teams or working in other global business environments.
What You'll Gain at Sphere
- Lead commercial growth in the global aerospace and space industry. Work directly with strategically important customers and help shape Sphere's position in their supply chains.
- Build relationships that matter. Engage with senior leadership at leading aerospace and space companies and develop long-term commercial partnerships.
- Own strategy and execution. Take responsibility for key account strategies, forecasts, budgets, and commercial outcomes, with meaningful influence over business direction.
